FACEBOOK HIRED THE FORMER SR. DIRECTOR OF APPLE

Facebook is currently on the top of all social networking sites. They've reach that level but they've haven't done much marketing. But now everything's changed. Facebook is now serious about it. As part of it, they hired Rebecca Van Dyck.

Rebecca was the former Sr. Director, Worldwide Marketing Communications and Advertising of Apple Inc for 3 years. Now that she will be working with Facebook, she will be the Head of Global Marketing.

For those who don't know. Wikipedia said that Oxford University Press defines Global Marketing as “marketing on a worldwide scale reconciling or taking commercial advantage of global operational differences, similarities and opportunities in order to meet global objectives.”

Personal Comment:

Why do Facebook needs to hire the former Apple's Sr. Director of Worldwide Marketing Communications and Advertising? Aren't you wondering why? Does this mean they're threatened by other social networking sites? Google+ perhaps? Well, whatever they're thinking, they sure don't want to be pulled down even a little.

They're actually having a good strategy here. While the fire has just starting, they pour water on it immediately to avoid burning everything.
